A five-day search for missing 13-year-old Cayman Naib of Newtown came to a close on March 8 when members of Greater Philadelphia Search and Rescue found his body near a creek by the Naib family’s 17-acre property. Naib, an eighth-grade student at the Shipley School in Bryn Mawr, left his house Wednesday night after receiving an email from school about a tardy homework assignment that stressed that he would receive an “F” if he did not submit it. Investigators believe that, because of this email, Cayman left home in the middle of a storm. His death was the result of a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Hundreds of students, parents, and members of the community gathered the night of March 8 at the Shipley School to memorialize Cayman.
